What is the minimum age for laser hair removal?

You can start laser hair removal procedures at LaserHere from 18+Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

It works by selectively heating your hair shaft which heats and thermally damages your hair follicle. Permanently damaged hair follicles will stop hair growth. As hair grows in 3 different stages and only “growth” stage hair will be effectively treated, you would need to undergo multiple treatments to be as effective as possible.

It is PERMANENT once the hair follicle is destroyed. Some of the hair follicles will be injured and your body will recover/heal those. Recovered hair follicles will regrow with time. This is one of the reasons you would need to have 6 treatments on average. The older you are, the less regrowth you might see down the road.

While laser hair removal is permanent, you would need to take into consideration that only affected and thermally damaged hair follicles would be permanently damaged and will stop hair growth. Laser hair removal will not be able to prevent future hair growth of hair that were dormant (were not growing) during the procedure.

Hair follicles that die during your treatment would not resurrect in the future. However, you might have new hair growth in the future, so you might need to do some follow-ups. We can get rid of only those hairs that are growing today. You cannot kill hair that’s not grown in yet.

You bet! During your life, you can spend tens of thousands of dollars on waxing and shaving. Besides the inconvenience of constantly shaving and the painful process of waxing, you might also get irritation on your skin from rubbing against freshly growing hair.

So the short answer would be YES, it is definitely worth getting laser hair removal. Laser hair removal results are permanent, unlike shaving or waxing where you need to continue doing so for the rest of your life!

The short answer is: It depends.

It depends on your skin type, your hair color/thickness, how deep they grow in the skin, and also in general how healthy a person you are. There might be other factors contributing to uncertainty such as medications you might take, hormonal changes in your body, genetics, etc.

As a rule of thumb, we would say a middle-age person would need 5-8 treatments to get rid of the majority of hair. Younger people might need more treatments because their hair is still growing in. However, this would also greatly depend on your age. The younger you are, the more treatments you would need. The hairier you are, the more treatments you might need.

To make sure laser will work for you, take a photo of the area you will be treating BEFORE you start your first treatment! Take a photo before you shave and keep it for future reference.

For example, should you plan hair removal for your legs, take a photo of your legs before shaving! This way you would have a reference point. Once you completed 5-8 treatments, do the same, take a photo of your legs and compare results. You will see a big difference!

Yes you definitely should! Here is a list of MUST DOs to prepare:

  • Please shave 1-2 days before your appointment day. We do NOT and will NOT shave you!
  • Please refrain from tanning/sun bathing 2-3 weeks prior to your treatment and do not tan/sun bath, or go to tanning booths 2-3 weeks before and 2-3 weeks after the treatment.

Please note, that pregnant or nursing women cannot be treated for laser hair removal! No exceptions.

Laser will fire against your skin during the treatment. Your hair shaft will absorb laser light, will heat/burn (throughout its full length) and will thermally damage your hair follicles (that’s how laser hair removal works). So we need the hair shaft to be present in your skin at the time of treatment.

On the other hand, hair above your skin will burn as well, but to no use and will cause unnecessary skin damage/burns. This is why we do not need hair above the skin! Just shave them. NO waxing though! Remember, we need the hair shaft inside your skin to be there at the time of treatment.

Laser hair removal procedure feels like snapping with a rubber band. It is way less painful than waxing! We use a dual cooling system (cryogenic spray and chilled air) to reduce discomfort and make the laser hair removal procedure as comfortable as possible. You will be fine!

You might be surprised but the majority of the people who came with low pain tolerance were not just fine but reported more positive experiences than anticipated!

There are 6 Fitzpatrick skin types. Our laser hair removal machines have two built-in lasers with Alexandrite (755nm) and Nd:YAG (1064nm) laser modules.
